i have fedora 5 and when i try to send the "ifconfig" command to get my ip address, i keep getting some error that says:
bash: ipconfig: command not found

you need to login as root. you can also login to root with the following command:

su -

If you are not logged in as root, forget it, the ifconfig command will not work.
